Tarot Card Meanings

The major arcana — the Fool, the Magician, the Tower, Death, the Sun, and 17 more — cover big, often unavoidable themes: a turning point, a lesson, the end of one stage and the start of another. Several major arcana in a row in a reading is a sign that something significant is at play, not a minor weekly detail.

The minor arcana split into Wands (energy, action, initiative), Cups (feelings, relationships), Swords (thoughts, conflict, decisions), and Pentacles (money, work, the material side of life). They're about concrete, everyday situations — which is why a reading about work or money usually pulls more minor arcana.

Every card can land upright or reversed, with equal odds. A reversed card isn't automatically "bad" — often it's the same meaning, just blocked, delayed, or turned inward instead of outward.

A card's meaning is always read in the context of the question and the cards around it — the same card in a love reading and a work reading points at different things. A short glossary is useful as a reference, but it doesn't replace an actual reading for your question.
